Using the Room Element

Updated July 11, 2026

What a room is

A room is the main organizing unit of your inventory — everything you own gets grouped under the room it's actually in. Rooms don't have to be literal rooms; "Garage," "Storage Unit," or "Home Office" all work the same way.

Naming a room

Click directly into a room's name field to edit it. Use a real, specific name rather than leaving the default — the name appears exactly as typed in every export.

Room-level attachments

Beyond individual item photos, a room itself can hold two kinds of its own attachments:

  • Room photo — a general photo of the room, useful for showing overall context or condition.
  • Floor plan — a floor plan or layout sketch of the room, shown with an amber border to distinguish it from a regular photo.

Reordering and moving rooms

Drag a room's handle to change its position relative to other rooms. Order matters mainly for how your export reads — most people order rooms the way a visitor would walk through the home.
