Who we are

Contents Proof (contentsproof.com) is operated by Aidas Subačius, based in Kaunas, Lithuania. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at info@contentsproof.com.

What we collect

  • Account information — name and email, from registration or Google sign-in.
  • Inventory data — anything you enter while building an inventory: room names, item descriptions, values, and any photos, receipts, warranty, or appraisal documents you upload.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by PayPal. We never see or store your card or bank details ourselves; we only receive confirmation that a payment was made, its amount, and a transaction reference.
  • Usage data — via Google Analytics, but only after you've explicitly consented via the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is collected.
  • Error and crash reports — technical details (like a stack trace) captured automatically if something breaks while you're using the app, so we can fix it. This does not include your inventory content.

How we use it

To provide the service itself (building, saving, and exporting your inventory), to process payments and send you a receipt, to email you a link back to a document you purchased anonymously, and — only with consent — to understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your inventory content with anyone, for any reason, other than generating the export files you explicitly request.

How long we keep it

  • An anonymous (not-logged-in) document with no content is deleted automatically if abandoned.
  • Once you add content, an anonymous document is kept for 7 days.
  • A document tied to a registered account, or purchased (one-time unlock), is kept for 1 year.
  • Payment and invoice records are retained for as long as legally required for tax and accounting purposes, regardless of account deletion (see below).

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from your Profile page. When you do, we genuinely delete — not just deactivate — every inventory document you own, along with every room, item, and uploaded photo or file inside them.

Payment and invoice records are the one exception: we keep those, since most jurisdictions (including Lithuania) legally require retaining financial transaction records for a number of years regardless of a deletion request. When your account is deleted, these records are disconnected from your name and login — they remain only as anonymous financial records for compliance purposes.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies required for the app to function (staying logged in, remembering your session). These aren't optional, since the app can't work without them, and don't require consent under applicable law.

Separately, we use Google Analytics to understand traffic and usage — but only after you explicitly click "Agree" on the cookie banner. If you decline, or simply don't interact with the banner, no analytics script ever loads and no tracking cookie is set.

Third parties we use

  • PayPal — payment processing.
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics, consent-gated.
  • GlitchTip (self-hosted) — error/crash reporting, hosted on our own infrastructure, not a third-party service.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/EEA (or anywhere with similar protections), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Account deletion is self-service via your Profile page; for anything else, email info@contentsproof.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Contents Proof after a change means you accept the updated policy.

We use cookies to understand how Contents Proof is used, so we can improve it. No ads, no selling data.
