Using the Boat Element

When to use this

Use the Boat Quick Add element for any watercraft — it works the same way as the Vehicle element, pre-filling the category and opening the same registration-style fields, since boats are documented and often insured similarly to vehicles.

Fields available

• VIN (or HIN — hull identification number, entered in the same field)
• License Plate (or registration number)
• Mileage (engine hours, if that's more relevant than mileage for your boat)
• Registration Expires

Photos worth attaching

An overall exterior photo, plus a close-up of the hull identification number (usually on the starboard side of the transom) and, if applicable, a photo of the engine or motor.
