The "More Details" Modal: Every Extra Field Explained
Updated July 11, 2026
Opening it
Every item card has a "+ More details" button at the bottom. This opens the full detail modal, which holds every field beyond what fits directly on the card — organized into collapsible sections so it stays manageable even when most items only need a few of them filled in.
More Product Details
Color, size, material, unit of measure, manufacture date, last serviced date, and warranty expiration. Useful for appliances, electronics, and anything where these specifics matter for a claim or resale.
Valuation & Appraisal
Replacement cost, appraised value, insured value, appraiser name, and appraisal date. This is where the numbers behind a formal appraisal live — pairs with attaching an actual Appraisal Document to the item.
Special Designation
Marks for antique, collectible (with grade and edition), and "separately insured / scheduled item" status, plus a provenance field for recording an item's history of ownership. This is the same section the Collectible and Valuable Item Quick Add elements open automatically.
Storage, Logistics & Estate
Destination room, storage location, box number, beneficiary, and flags for fragile or requiring disassembly — useful when this inventory is also serving as a moving or estate-planning reference, not just an insurance one. Also includes fields for marking an item as disposed of, with a date and value.
You don't need to fill in every section
These sections exist for the cases where they're relevant — most everyday items only need a name, category, and photo. Use whichever sections actually apply to a given item and leave the rest empty.
