Exporting Your Inventory (and Choosing the Right Format)

Updated July 11, 2026

Opening the export menu

From the Builder, click Export to see every available format. Each one is built for a slightly different purpose.

Available formats

  • Simple Inventory List — a clean, general-purpose PDF (and on Pro, also CSV, JSON, Excel, and Word). Free plan users can always use this format.
  • State Farm and Allstate formats — structured to match those insurers' own published inventory guidance.
  • Moving (Bill of Lading) — matches the household goods inventory format movers actually use, including condition notes and box numbers.
  • High-Value / Scheduled Items — emphasizes appraisals and valuation, for jewelry, art, and collectibles.
  • FEMA Disaster Assistance — aligned with FEMA's personal property documentation guidance.

Free vs. Pro exports

On the Free plan, only the Simple format's PDF is available, and it's limited to your first 3 rooms and 20 items document-wide, with one photo per item. Anything beyond that is clearly marked in the export rather than silently left out. Pro removes all of these limits and unlocks every format and file type.

Choosing the right format

If you know your specific insurer and it's one of the ones listed, use that matching format — it's the most likely to be immediately recognizable to your insurer's claims process. If you're not sure, or your insurer isn't listed, the Simple format is accepted broadly and covers everything comprehensively.
